Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a full-time Associate Veterinarian at Companion Animal Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. This AAHA-accredited small animal general practice is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to dogs and cats in Oak Park and the surrounding Chicago communities. The clinic is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join their collaborative, supportive team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. This is a full-time position with a consistent and structured weekly schedule, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will diagnose, treat, and perform surgery on companion animals while maintaining detailed medical records and clear communication with clients. Additional responsibilities include setting medical and surgical care standards, mentoring support staff, providing feedback on training programs, reviewing estimates and discharge instructions, and supporting administrative operations in collaboration with the hospital manager. The role is well-suited for an experienced veterinarian who thrives in a team-driven, mentorship-focused environment and is committed to upholding the clinic’s core values and high standards of care.

Practice Details
The facility is AAHA-accredited and fully equipped to deliver comprehensive services including wellness exams, dental care, surgery, dermatology, and more. The hospital uses Fear Free techniques and provides low-stress experiences for its patients. It also features cat boarding and dog grooming services. The clinic is heavily involved in community outreach and partners with seven local nonprofit animal rescue organizations, with plans to expand.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
