Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. The practice provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats alongside veterinary services for exotic pets, including small mammals, reptiles and birds. The hospital is committed to delivering a high standard of medicine within a supportive and collaborative environment, combining preventative care with advanced diagnostics, medical treatment and surgical services.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical care across a varied caseload, building long-term relationships with clients and taking responsibility for patients from diagnosis through treatment. Clinical services include wellness and preventative care, diagnostics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, pain management, endocrinology, ophthalmology, reproductive medicine and care for exotic and pocket pets. Surgical capabilities include spay and neuter procedures, mass removals, cystotomies and dental surgery. The veterinarian will communicate findings and treatment plans clearly with clients, helping them make informed decisions about their pets’ care, while collaborating closely with the wider veterinary and support team. A DVM degree and valid state veterinary license in good standing are required.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The practice is AAHA accredited, with its medical protocols covering areas including diagnostics, surgery and pain management. Diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, blood and laboratory testing and tonometry, alongside comprehensive anesthesia and patient monitoring. Services include wellness and preventative medicine, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, microchipping, vaccinations, parasite control, puppy and kitten care, senior care, euthanasia, health certificates, reproductive services, endocrinology, ophthalmology and care for exotic and small mammal patients. The hospital also has access to internal specialty consultations and additional clinical resources to support the management of more complex cases.
Team
The hospital has a team of four DVMs who work alongside a supportive paraprofessional team. The working environment places an emphasis on collaboration, clinical excellence and maintaining a positive hospital culture. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
