Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a full-service companion animal hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead its veterinary team. This position combines hands-on clinical practice with medical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape standards of care, develop the clinical team, and contribute to the ongoing performance of the hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will maintain an active clinical caseload while overseeing the quality of patient care and client experience within the hospital. Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, imaging, preventative care, dentistry and dental extractions, and routine and complex surgical procedures including spays, neuters, mass removals, and abdominal exploratories. Leadership responsibilities include driving continuous improvement in clinical standards and skills, mentoring and developing the veterinary team, and fostering a supportive and collaborative culture. The Medical Director will also review hospital financial performance and work alongside medical and operational leadership to improve efficiency, hospital performance, and quality of care. The position offers a flexible full-time schedule with no on-call shifts.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with cloud-based practice management and medical record software, digital and dental radiography, in-house diagnostic technology, handheld ultrasound, AI-supported radiograph interpretation, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, and digital cytology capabilities. Services include routine wellness and preventative medicine, diagnostics, radiography, ultrasound, dentistry and dental extractions, illness and injury care, and a range of surgical procedures. The hospital supports autonomous clinical decision-making and continued development in both medicine and leadership.

Team
The Medical Director will lead a clinical team that includes licensed and trained veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. The hospital promotes a respectful and collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to develop their clinical skills and work together to deliver high standards of patient care. The Medical Director will also have access to support from experienced medical leadership.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
