Job Description

Introduction
An established veterinary hospital in Charles Town, West Virginia is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team on a full or part-time basis. Serving the local community since 1992, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, combining General Practice medicine with Urgent Care, advanced diagnostics, surgery and additional medical services. The position provides the opportunity to manage a varied medical and surgical caseload within an established eight-veterinarian environment, with the wider doctor team bringing more than 75 years of combined veterinary experience.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will maintain responsibility for their own cases, developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans and communicating clinical findings and recommendations effectively with clients. The hospital’s Urgent Care and extensive in-house diagnostic capabilities provide additional opportunities to investigate and manage more involved medical presentations, while the established multi-doctor environment supports collaborative case discussion and continued clinical development.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside Urgent Care, Dentistry, Surgery, Pain Management and integrative care. Equipment and clinical capabilities include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive In-House Laboratory, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound and ECG, providing extensive on-site support for diagnostic investigation and treatment planning. The hospital also provides surgical care supported by individualized anesthesia protocols, IV fluid and blood pressure support where appropriate, comprehensive vital-sign monitoring and tailored perioperative pain management. Urgent Care is available for dogs and cats experiencing sudden illness or injury during normal hospital hours, with the practice not operating as a 24/7 Emergency facility. The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and is closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital currently has an established eight-veterinarian team, with clinical interests spanning differnet areas of medicine. The doctor team includes veterinarians at different stages of their careers alongside individuals with several decades of professional experience, creating a broad base of clinical knowledge within the hospital. The incoming Associate Veterinarian will join this established multi-doctor environment with opportunities for collaborative case management, continued learning and professional development while maintaining autonomy over their own medical and surgical cases.
