Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a veterinary practice seeking a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their small animal clinic. The practice currently cares for dogs and cats, with openness to incorporating exotic species if this aligns with a new doctor’s interests.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. It is closed on Sundays. The position can be structured as full-time or part-time.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role includes providing wellness care, senior pet care, pediatrics, parasite control, dental care, diagnostics, in-house laboratory testing, surgery, emergency and urgent care support, microchipping, and ultrasound services. Daily duties span internal medicine, general surgery, dentistry, and broader preventive care. The position welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available.
Practice Details
The clinic offers a wide range of services supported by comprehensive diagnostic capabilities. Equipment and services include an in-house laboratory with complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, urinalysis, parasite screening, heartworm testing, and cytology. Diagnostic imaging includes digital radiography and ultrasound, with additional specialized testing available. Surgical offerings include routine elective procedures, mass and tumor removal, soft tissue surgeries such as foreign body removal, wound repair, cystotomy, gastrointestinal procedures, and dental surgery. The practice is currently in a smaller space but has plans to expand later this year to enhance the facility and create additional room for patient care.
Team
The practice is staffed by two DVMs and a loyal support team, many of whom have been with the clinic for more than a decade. The work environment is relaxed, collaborative, and supportive, with a strong focus on mentorship and teamwork.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
