Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital that treats cats, dogs, exotics, and pocket pets, and they are hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. This position is based within a unique, referral-only surgical model where the clinical focus is exclusively on providing affordable, expert surgical solutions for primary care veterinarians.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position offering a four-day workweek from Tuesday through Friday. Doctor hours run within the hospital’s operating schedule of 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the hospital closing daily from 12:00pm to 1:00pm for lunch. There are no weekend shifts as the hospital is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. On-call coverage is shared and only required for urgent surgical needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is dedicated exclusively to surgical responsibilities, with no wellness, dentistry, or general practice duties. The successful candidate will focus entirely on performing surgical procedures as part of a referral-based caseload. This position is best suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital operates with a unique, referral-only structure centered on surgical care and outpatient diagnostics. It serves as a trusted partner for primary care veterinarians seeking affordable, high-quality surgical options without the cost associated with specialist-level care. The hospital is equipped with a full TPLO setup, in-operative digital radiographs, a surgical laser, and in-house ultrasound services with radiologist interpretation. The caseload is strictly surgical, with no wellness visits or dental procedures, and typically includes two to three surgeries per day such as TPLOs, lateral cruciate, FHOs, splenectomies, and stenotic nares.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
