Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned practice seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. Proudly independent, the practice sees a varied caseload comprising approximately 70% cats and dogs and 30% exotic species, including small mammals, rabbits, rodents, ferrets, turtles, lizards and occasional snakes. There is no requirement to see exotic patients, so a veterinarian wishing to focus solely on cats and dogs would also be considered. The practice is not currently accepting new avian patients.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of general practice responsibilities, with the option to perform surgery. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with a preference for someone with 5+ years of experience. The role is part-time, with 2–3 days per week preferred, although exact hours are open to discussion. Scheduling is flexible, with 30-minute wellness appointments and one-hour sick appointments.

Practice Details
The practice provides a full scope of general practice services, including wellness, preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry, alongside urgent care. Equipment includes IDEXX in-house laboratory capabilities, a chemistry analyzer, IDEXX SediVue urinalysis and digital X-ray. The facility currently has two exam rooms, with expansion planned to increase this to four, as well as a separate surgical suite. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am–5:30pm and Saturdays from 9am–2pm.

Team
The team consists of one owner DVM and one regular relief veterinarian, supported by a well-supported group of staff.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
