Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited mixed animal veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team. The practice provides comprehensive care for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, swine, small ruminants, and occasional exotic patients, offering veterinarians the opportunity to practice true mixed animal medicine across both hospital and farm settings. The position is ideally full-time, although part-time candidates will also be considered.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a diverse mixed animal caseload spanning preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, emergency care, and medical treatment. The role includes companion animal medicine alongside equine and livestock care, with opportunities to perform equine wellness and dentistry, herd health consultations, routine large animal vaccinations, bull semen evaluations, castrations for sheep, goats, and cattle, and limited farm calls. Veterinarians can also utilize general and advanced surgical services, including laser surgery. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship and collaborative case support available for new graduates. Full-time doctors work a four-day week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a dedicated lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM and a rotating Saturday shift every third week from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the practice closed on Sundays. AAHA accredited since 1995, the full-service hospital offers advanced diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasound for small animal patients, an in-house laboratory with blood testing, fecal examinations, urinalysis and cytology technology, surgical and dental suites, advanced surgical monitoring, heated surgical tables, and laser surgery capabilities. Services include preventative and diagnostic care, general and advanced surgery, dentistry, puppy and kitten care, senior care, grooming, emergency care, equine wellness and dentistry, herd health consultation, large animal services, and limited farm calls. The hospital also has a dedicated haul-in handling facility behind the main clinic for the safe loading, unloading, and treatment of equine and livestock patients. The practice has served its community since 1981 and emphasizes progressive, compassionate veterinary care, long-term client relationships, collaboration, and continued investment in technology and modern equipment.
Team
The hospital has three DVMs working alongside an experienced team of technicians and support staff, many of whom have been with the practice for more than 20 years. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with an emphasis on open communication, mentorship, shared expertise, welcoming new ideas, and supporting one another in providing high-quality patient care.
