Introduction
An established veterinary hospital in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced team. Serving the local community since 2017, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats. The position provides the opportunity to manage a varied medical and surgical caseload within an established four-veterinarian environment, with continued professional development and a structured clinical support team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will take responsibility for patient care from diagnosis through treatment, with the clinical autonomy to develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans and maintain high standards of veterinary medicine. Responsibilities include developing long-term client relationships, clearly communicating clinical findings and recommendations, and educating owners to support informed decision-making.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside Urgent Care, advanced medical care, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Behavioral Care and Laser Therapy. Diagnostic capabilities include Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Tonometry, ECG and comprehensive Blood and Laboratory Testing, providing extensive in-house support for the investigation and management of medical cases. The hospital also provides Soft Tissue, Dental and Orthopedic Surgery, supported by modern anesthetic monitoring and postoperative care. General appointments are available Monday through Friday, while the hospital’s dedicated weekend Urgent Care service operates Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing assessment and treatment for pets requiring prompt veterinary attention outside the regular weekday schedule.

Team
The hospital has an established four-veterinarian team, supported by a structured group of veterinary and administrative professionals that includes a Lead Veterinary Technician and Inventory Manager. The hospital places an emphasis on ongoing education and professional development, with opportunities for team members to develop additional credentials if wanted.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
