Introduction
A well-established small animal hospital in Billings, Montana is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced team of five doctors. Established in 1981, the practice combines comprehensive general medicine with an unusually advanced surgical caseload and has developed a strong reputation for managing complex cases from across the surrounding region. With an orthopedic surgeon on staff, this is a particularly attractive opportunity for a GP veterinarian interested in developing their surgical capabilities while continuing to enjoy the variety of general practice. The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with flexible scheduling options available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll manage a varied small animal caseload encompassing preventative healthcare, medical workups, diagnostics, dentistry, treatment planning, and general surgery. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your cases while collaborating with experienced colleagues when managing more challenging presentations. Veterinarians with a surgical interest will find particularly strong opportunities for development, with hands-on exposure to advanced procedures and the chance to learn alongside an experienced orthopedic surgeon.

Practice Details
This well-equipped hospital provides comprehensive small animal general practice while offering a level of advanced medicine and surgery that goes beyond the scope of many traditional GP settings. The team manages orthopedic and complex soft tissue surgery, alongside dentistry, ophthalmic cases, diagnostics, preventative medicine, and routine medical care. The hospital’s capabilities attract more complex cases from the surrounding region, creating a diverse and clinically stimulating workload while allowing veterinarians to develop their interests without having to move away from general practice.

Team
You’ll join an established team of five veterinarians, including an orthopedic surgeon, supported by experienced technicians and veterinary support professionals. Collaboration and continued development are strongly encouraged, with experienced doctors available for case discussion, mentorship, and surgical guidance. This position would particularly suit a veterinarian who enjoys a busy and varied caseload, values strong teamwork, and wants to continue developing their medical and surgical skills within a respected, longstanding hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
