Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a nationally recognized, board-certified exotics specialist while providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to a caseload consisting of approximately 80% canine and feline patients and 20% exotics, including amphibians, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles, and other small mammal exotics. Prior exotics experience is welcomed but not required; however, the successful candidate must be willing to learn and develop skills in exotics medicine. There is also a direct route into partnership in the hospital.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position based on a four-day workweek with rotating Saturdays. The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of GP duties, delivering comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. The role requires an experienced veterinarian, with two or more years of experience preferred, who is confident managing general practice responsibilities and interested in working within a diverse caseload that includes exotics.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from a large, well-established facility featuring eight exam rooms, a fully equipped surgical suite, treatment and ICU areas, and dedicated spaces for feline, euthanasia, and quarantine appointments. The practice is well equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, IDEXX and Zoetis in-house laboratories, and modern client communication and documentation tools. The hospital provides the full scope of GP services within a supportive clinical infrastructure.
Team
The team consists of one DVM supported by a well-trained support staff, maintaining a 2:1 tech-to-doctor ratio to ensure strong clinical support and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
