Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital seeking a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to work across two hospital locations, with doctors splitting their time equally between both practices throughout the week. The hospitals primarily provide care for dogs and cats, alongside reptiles and pocket pets, with some care also provided for backyard poultry. The incoming veterinarian is not required to see exotic patients, although the practices are open to a doctor interested in expanding exotic services.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical and preventative care, with a typical day consisting of surgeries in the morning followed by appointments in the afternoon. Clinical responsibilities include wellness and preventative care, treatment of illnesses and injuries, routine soft tissue surgery, spays and neuters, mass removals, dentistry, diagnostics, and management of ongoing medical conditions. Appointments are generally 20 minutes for annual visits and 30 minutes for sick patients, with sick appointments staggered between annual appointments when running two columns. The practices are also open to supporting veterinarians who wish to introduce additional services within their own skill sets, including orthopedics. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are welcome, with a mentorship program available for new graduates. Full-time is considered 32 hours per week, typically across four days with every other Saturday morning, while part-time opportunities are also available with no stated minimum hours. Protected lunch and administrative time is scheduled from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM where possible.

Practice Details
The hospitals are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and are closed on Sundays. Both locations have surgical suites and digital radiography, alongside in-house laboratory capabilities for bloodwork and fecal testing, urinalysis equipment, digital cytology capabilities, and independent blood pressure monitoring. A travelling ultrasonographer provides echocardiography, cardiology, and internal medicine support, while cases requiring additional emergency or specialty care can be referred locally. Services include comprehensive medical and preventative care, routine diagnostics, digital radiography, routine soft tissue surgery, spays and neuters, mass removals, dental procedures, and care for selected exotic and pocket pet species. The hospitals are open to expanding their clinical services based on the skills and interests of the incoming veterinarian.

Team
The hospitals currently have four DVMs, six Registered Veterinary Technicians, six veterinary assistants, including one currently attending technician school, and four receptionists. The practices are technician-heavy and focus on fully utilizing the skills of their technical team. The working environment is described as genuinely close-knit and collaborative, without cliques, and new graduates have access to a structured mentorship program.

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
