Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital serving the community since 1985, currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. This role is ideally full-time, though part-time candidates will also be considered. The hospital focuses on treating dogs and cats and is looking to expand its veterinary team.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position involves a full scope of general practice responsibilities, including routine and advanced medical care. Daily duties may include consultations, surgery, dentistry, wellness care, and internal medicine cases. The role offers flexibility with either 8- or 10-hour shifts, with specific working hours open to discussion. The opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. It is equipped with ultrasound and digital X-ray technology, among other tools. Facilities include an isolation ward, intensive care unit, in-office surgical suite, and in-house pharmacy. The practice is AAHA-accredited and provides a full scope of GP services alongside advanced dental care, cardiology, radioactive iodine therapy, ophthalmology, and orthopedics. Additional services include pet grooming, nutritional counselling, and climate-controlled boarding. The team is committed to using fear-free techniques whenever possible.
Team
The practice consists of 2 DVMs supported by 6 support staff members. The veterinarians, technicians, and support staff are trained to the highest standards and maintain thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines. The environment supports a minimum 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, contributing to a collaborative and well-supported workplace.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
