Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal practice seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team in Northern Virginia. The practice primarily cares for dogs and cats, with some pocket pets, and also has access to large animal calls through a sister facility. The hospital has been a well-established part of the community for over 30 years and welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates seeking strong mentorship and a supportive start to their careers.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30am to 7:00pm, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and on Saturdays from 8:30am to 1:30pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays. Veterinarians typically work three full days and one half day per week, with no overnight or on-call duties.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will participate in a varied caseload that includes diagnostics, routine wellness care, surgery, acupuncture, and holistic treatment options. The role also offers opportunities to pursue individual areas of interest within veterinary medicine. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, performing diagnostic testing and surgical procedures, providing clear and compassionate client communication, and maintaining detailed medical records. This role is open to veterinarians of all experience levels, with mentorship available for new graduates and support for experienced clinicians looking to advance their skills.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
