Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned general practice hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. The hospital primarily sees dogs and cats, with a caseload of approximately 85% dogs and 15% cats. The practice is open to adding additional services for a confident doctor.

Schedule
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6pm and is closed on weekends. Full-time veterinarians work four weekdays, with the option of one surgery morning if desired. Part-time veterinarians can be scheduled for two to three days, with or without a surgery morning. Appointments are scheduled between 20 and 30 minutes. There is no weekend working.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves the full scope of general practice responsibilities. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA Accredited and Cat Friendly Gold certified. The practice is well-equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental, IDEXX in-house lab equipment including InVue, and Cornerstone practice software. Facilities include five exam rooms, a spacious surgery suite, an isolation ward, a cat-only ward and exam room, and an additional room currently being converted into a euthanasia room. It provides the full scope of general practice services.

Team
The team consists of one owner doctor supported by a great team of staff, with a staff-to-doctor ratio of 3:1.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
