Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital that has been serving the community since 1992 and is hiring an Associate Veterinarian. The hospital treats cats and dogs and is open to both full-time and part-time veterinarians. This opportunity is suited to a doctor looking to work in a collaborative practice offering both wellness care and advanced medical and surgical services.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for treating and diagnosing small animal patients while providing a range of services including wellness care and advanced surgical procedures. The role offers exposure to both preventative medicine and more complex medical cases within a collaborative clinical setting. The hospital is open to both new graduates and experienced veterinarians. Strong mentorship is available for new graduates looking to develop their clinical skills and confidence. Scheduling is open for discussion, with weekend responsibilities shared on a rotational basis.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. The practice is equipped with radiology, laser therapy equipment, and additional medical resources to support a wide range of patient care services. Services offered include wellness and preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, testing and diagnostics such as radiology, as well as advanced services including cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic services, pain management, laser therapy, acupuncture, and behavioural therapy.
Team
The hospital currently has 5 veterinarians supported by an assistant hospital manager, hospital manager, and a strong support team. The environment is designed to support collaboration across the team while providing mentorship opportunities for veterinarians at different stages of their careers.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
