Introduction
Our client is a well-established, full-service veterinary hospital in Avon, Connecticut, seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides comprehensive, compassionate care for dogs and cats across all life stages, including preventative medicine, dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostics, and urgent-care services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated DVM to deliver high-quality veterinary care in a supportive environment, with potential to step into a Medical Director role for the right candidate.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is closed on weekends, allowing for a balanced schedule without after-hours or weekend responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical and surgical care to canine and feline patients, including routine exams, preventive medicine, dental procedures, internal medicine, and soft-tissue surgeries. Additional responsibilities include performing diagnostics using the hospital’s in-house laboratory and imaging equipment, educating clients, and fostering long-term client relationships. The role also involves collaboration across departments to ensure consistent, seamless patient care. For those pursuing a leadership path, there is an opportunity to assume Medical Director responsibilities, including mentoring colleagues, overseeing clinical protocols, and supporting hospital growth initiatives.

The hospital serves the Farmington Valley and greater Hartford area, offering a full range of services designed to keep pets healthy and thriving. The facility is equipped with radiography (digital X-rays), ultrasound, EKG, and an in-house diagnostic laboratory to support accurate, efficient care. Services include vaccinations and parasite prevention, internal medicine, dentistry, geriatrics, surgery, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, gastroenterology, reproductive and pulmonary care, and immunology. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
