Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their long-standing and compassionate team. Serving the community since 1979, this well-established practice treats dogs, cats, and some exotic pets, and prides itself on delivering high-quality medicine in a welcoming, family-oriented environment. Located near the Wisconsin–Illinois border, the hospital is ideally situated for those who enjoy both professional fulfillment and access to a wide range of outdoor activities.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The incoming veterinarian can choose to work full-time, with a 4–5 day schedule and at least two Saturdays per month, or part-time depending on availability.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves providing general medicine, preventive care, and surgical services, with a focus on client education and long-term relationship building. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, communicative, and team-oriented. An interest in orthopedic surgery or ultrasound is a plus but not required. The position is open to experienced doctors, with mentorship available from a supportive and experienced Medical Director.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with brand-new digital radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, a full in-house laboratory, and multiple patient monitoring systems, ensuring the team can deliver high-quality, progressive care. The practice handles a varied caseload and provides services such as surgery, preventive medicine, behavioral counseling, nutritional guidance, exotic pet care, and emergency/extended care. The culture is centered on individualized care and building strong client relationships.

Team
The hospital currently has three full-time veterinarians and several part-time doctors, supported by a dedicated and experienced team of support staff. The environment is collaborative and mentorship-focused, encouraging ongoing growth and professional development in a positive, team-driven setting.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
