Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. The hospital offers a broad range of general practice, urgent care, diagnostic, dental, and surgical services, with a focus on maintaining a positive culture and supporting work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will work across wellness care, dentistry, diagnostics, urgent care, and surgery. Surgical services include laser surgery, soft tissue procedures, and orthopedic procedures including patellar luxation repair, cruciate ligament repair, fracture repair, femoral head ostectomy, and amputations. The role is 40 hours per week and includes a rotating Saturday shift. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute slots, with dedicated breaks in the morning and afternoon for catching up and completing callbacks.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. Services include wellness exams and plans, dentistry, diagnostics, surgery, cryosurgery, medical lasers, euthanasia, urgent care, laboratory testing, and pharmacy services. The hospital has a state-of-the-art in-house laboratory offering complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, electrolyte monitoring, cytology, full urinalysis, and urine culture and sensitivity, alongside access to an off-site diagnostic laboratory. The practice performs laser, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery, with soft tissue procedures performed every weekday. Surgical patients are monitored by qualified technical staff using advanced monitoring equipment. The hospital prioritizes mental health and work-life balance, with pre-set appointment blocks and wellness appointments scheduled before lunch and at the end of the day.

Team
The hospital has ten DVMs and a dedicated veterinary support team, including qualified technical staff who support surgical patient monitoring. The team maintains a professional but positive working environment and places an emphasis on staff culture, client care, and work-life balance.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
