Job Description
Introduction
A small animal hospital in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian. This position offers the chance to practice advanced medicine alongside a supportive, collaborative team that values respect, teamwork, and laughter. The hospital provides a healthy work-life balance with no on-call duties and a schedule built around four-day workweeks.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and closed on major holidays. Veterinarians typically work four 10-hour shifts each week, with occasional Saturday shifts. There are no on-call responsibilities.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will perform comprehensive examinations, diagnostics, and treatments while developing strong client relationships through clear communication and education. Doctors are expected to maintain accurate medical records, provide preventative care, and deliver high standards of medicine in alignment with the hospital’s protocols. Collaboration with colleagues and mentorship opportunities for continued growth are encouraged.

The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including modern radiology, dentistry, and surgical facilities. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
