Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, performing routine soft tissue surgeries and dentistry where applicable, managing medical records accurately, and collaborating with the wider veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. The Associate Veterinarian will also promote preventative healthcare, maintain compliance with hospital protocols, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with Sundays closed.
This well-equipped practice offers modern diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic technology to support both general and advanced veterinary medicine. Equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, surgical laser technology, and low-level therapeutic laser therapy. Surgical patients can receive IV fluids, sevoflurane gas anesthesia, and continuous monitoring of heart rate, respiration, and oxygen levels. Advanced pain management and stem cell therapy are also available for patients experiencing joint pain associated with arthritis.
Serving the local community since 1942, the facility has evolved over more than 80 years to accommodate a growing clientele while retaining its neighborhood practice approach. Clinical facilities support outpatient consultations, diagnostic imaging, endoscopy, dental care, general and orthopedic surgery, overnight postoperative care when required, and pet boarding.
The practice is AAHA accredited.
A broad range of general and advanced veterinary services provides veterinarians with a varied caseload. Services include wellness and preventative care for puppies, kittens, adults, and senior pets, vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutritional guidance, comprehensive dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, behavioral counselling, spays and neuters, general surgery, advanced laser surgery, orthopedic surgery, radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, advanced pain management, therapeutic laser therapy, stem cell therapy for joint disease, and boarding.
As a long-established, full-service practice, the clinical philosophy combines modern veterinary medicine with personalized care, with particular emphasis on responsible pet ownership, preventative healthcare, and client education. Both general and more advanced services are provided within the practice, creating a caseload that extends beyond routine primary care.
Team
The hospital is currently home to one DVM, supported by a team of veterinary technicians and client care professionals.
There is a strong emphasis on staff training and continuing education. Technical staff attend seminars, complete written knowledge assessments, participate in regular hands-on lectures and laboratories, and attend veterinary conferences, with specialized training in surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and dermatology. Client care professionals also receive extensive training covering wellness care, vaccinations, nutrition, deworming, diagnostic profiles, pediatric and geriatric care, and dental prophylaxis.
