Introduction
An established five-doctor animal hospital in Aloha, Oregon is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced and collaborative team. This is a well-equipped, high-performing small animal practice that blends progressive medicine with strong mentorship and clinical support. Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position structured as four 10-hour shifts per week, providing consistency and built-in work-life balance. The schedule includes one dedicated surgery day and three general practice days. Hospital hours run Monday through Friday with shifts typically scheduled from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, allowing for predictable routines and focused clinical time.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for canine and feline patients, with the option to see exotics for those interested. Responsibilities include conducting physical examinations, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, performing routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, and delivering preventive and dental care. You will collaborate closely with fellow veterinarians and credentialed technicians to ensure consistent standards of care, clear case management, and thorough client communication. The role encourages continued learning, case discussion, and professional development, making it well suited to both confident clinicians and doctors seeking structured mentorship.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from a large, purpose-designed facility featuring a dedicated surgery suite and seven exam rooms. Clinical equipment includes an in-house laboratory, laparoscopic and electrosurgery capabilities, and comprehensive diagnostic resources. The team follows hands-free radiology safety protocols and includes Fear-Free Certified members committed to reducing patient stress. The practice also partners with local pet stores to provide care for exotic species, offering additional case variety for veterinarians interested in expanding their skillset.
Team
You will join a team of five veterinarians supported by highly experienced credentialed veterinary technicians, including three CVTs with more than 60 years of combined experience. The culture is collaborative and mentorship-driven, with open case discussions and strong clinical support built into daily operations. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
