Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a dedicated cat-only hospital in Alexandria, Virginia, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their feline-focused team. This AAHA-accredited practice is also a proud member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and holds Cat Friendly Practice Gold status, offering an exceptional clinical environment tailored exclusively to cats. The hospital provides primary, preventive, and advanced medical care, and welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates who are eager to grow within a supportive, specialty feline practice.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, closing for a full hour at lunch, and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm. This is a full-time position consisting of a four-day workweek (Monday–Friday), with a rotating half-day on Saturdays. There are no on-call requirements, allowing you to maintain excellent work-life balance while providing focused, high-quality feline care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will deliver comprehensive feline medicine, including wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric care, soft-tissue surgery, dental care, and pain management. You will play a key role in building trusting, long-term client relationships and ensuring compassionate, low-stress care tailored to cats’ unique needs. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates seeking dedicated mentorship in a feline-exclusive environment.

This cat-only hospital is designed to support stress-free, high-quality feline medicine. The facility is equipped with radiology, dental care capabilities, dermatology services, soft-tissue surgical equipment, tonopen, and in-house resources for preventive and geriatric care. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
