Our client is a hospital providing comprehensive veterinary care for dogs, cats, exotics, and wildlife in Abingdon, Maryland, and is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join the team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and has been serving the Harford County community since 2003, establishing a strong reputation for high-quality veterinary medicine and compassionate patient care. With a diverse and engaging caseload, the hospital offers an opportunity to practice progressive veterinary medicine, develop special clinical interests, and build lasting relationships with clients in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive care across a varied caseload, including preventive medicine, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. Responsibilities include performing examinations, developing treatment plans, administering medications and vaccinations, and managing conditions such as allergies and dermatological issues. The role also involves laser therapy, compassionate end-of-life care, maintaining accurate medical records, and communicating treatment recommendations to clients. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian who can deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is a well-established veterinary facility offering comprehensive medical services for companion animals, exotic species, and wildlife. Clinical facilities include two surgical suites, in-house diagnostic capabilities, advanced surgical equipment, and resources supporting specialized exotic animal medicine. Services include preventive healthcare, diagnostic testing, surgery, dentistry, allergy and dermatology management, laser therapy, urgent care, and euthanasia. The diverse caseload provides opportunities for veterinarians to develop their clinical interests while delivering high-quality medical and surgical care across different species. The hospital has served the local community for more than two decades and maintains a strong emphasis on comprehensive veterinary medicine, professional development, and work-life balance. Opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
