Our client is a referral and emergency hospital seeking a full-time Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join their team in Long Island, NY. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and critical care alongside a wide range of specialty services including surgery, internal medicine, oncology, critical care, dermatology, dentistry, neurology, cardiology, avian and exotics, physical rehabilitation, and ophthalmology. The practice is dedicated to delivering high-quality medicine while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This is a full-time position with scheduling designed to balance professional responsibilities with personal well-being.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Ophthalmologist will provide advanced ophthalmic care, including diagnostics, medical management, and surgical procedures for a variety of conditions. Services offered range from applanation tonometry, electroretinography, fluorescein staining, ocular ultrasonography, and slit lamp biomicroscopy, to advanced surgical options such as cataract phacoemulsification, glaucoma valve placement, corneal grafting, eyelid reconstruction, and laser surgery. This position is suited to an experienced clinician seeking to contribute specialist expertise within a highly supportive, multi-disciplinary hospital.

The hospital is home to 20 DVMs supported by a large team of licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists, and kennel staff. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
