Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their 24/7 hybrid emergency, specialty, and general practice team. This role is open to board-certified or residency-trained internists who are passionate about complex internal medicine cases involving cats and dogs. Scheduling is flexible and can accommodate either full-time or part-time availability.
Working Hours / Rota
Scheduling is flexible, offering both full-time and part-time options to suit the candidate’s availability. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Role Description and Responsibilities
A veterinary internist’s clinical responsibilities include diagnosing and treating internal organ diseases in animals. They are responsible for complex diagnostic testing, treatment planning, and managing ongoing care for patients with chronic or complicated conditions, often in collaboration with the patient’s primary care veterinarian. This role is open to board-certified or residency-trained veterinary internists only.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology including GE Logic L6 and GE S7 ultrasound units, a 64-slice CT scanner, Ligasure, and laparoscopy equipment. Facilities include an M suite, CT room, ultrasound procedure room, surgery suite, and a chemotherapy room. The hospital offers a broad range of services provided by board-certified specialists in internal medicine, surgery, and oncology, and is supported by experienced emergency and general practice associates.
Team
The current team includes 16 DVMs and 6 registered veterinary technicians, in addition to other support staff who oversee client care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
