Job Description

Introduction
A Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Internist is needed to join a full-service, AAHA-accredited 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. For over 40 years, this hospital has been a trusted part of the Denver metro and Front Range communities, offering advanced medicine, cutting-edge technology, and a compassionate, collaborative culture.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position requiring full availability to support the hospital’s 24-hour specialty and emergency service. The schedule is designed to balance caseload variety and professional fulfillment within a supportive and team-driven environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Internist will provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care for small animal internal medicine cases, collaborating closely with emergency and specialty colleagues to deliver the highest standard of medicine. The role involves managing complex internal medicine cases, supporting referring veterinarians, and fostering an environment of continued learning and teamwork.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with advanced medical technology, including endoscopy, laparoscopy, CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house laboratory, and patient monitoring systems. The facility also integrates Fear Free techniques whenever possible, ensuring comfort and compassionate handling for every patient.

Team
The incoming Internist will join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team that includes emergency and specialty veterinarians, experienced technicians, and dedicated support staff. The team culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and excellence in patient care, supported by access to a nationwide network of specialists within VCA.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
