Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an urgent care practice in the Tampa, Florida area. They are hiring for a part-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team. The clinic bridges the gap between daytime general practice and overnight emergency hospitals by offering after-hours care for canine and feline patients. This opportunity is open to veterinarians of all experience levels.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital opening hours are Monday to Friday 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and open on all holidays. This is a part-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role is focused exclusively on urgent care, with no wellness services and no abdominal surgeries. Clinical responsibilities include wound management, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia, as well as a variety of urgent but non-life-threatening cases. Duties also include serving patients and clients with a relationship-based approach, collaborating with the clinical team and leadership, fostering relationships within the local community, encouraging the growth of support staff through the internal LevelUp training program, and managing a varied caseload during single-doctor shifts. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital operates in a brand-new, modern facility designed for urgent care. It is fully paperless, equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a complete suite of IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The practice embraces a Fear Free approach, is feline friendly, and emphasizes affordability, accessibility, and compassionate care. The culture is supportive, efficient, and designed to help veterinarians focus on patient care.
Team
The hospital is staffed with DVMs supported by a strong technical team and experienced support staff. The environment is collaborative, Fear Free focused, and committed to both patient care and professional development.
