The Associate Medical Director will perform all duties required as a staff veterinarian as deemed appropriate for home department. Clinical work should comprise approximately 50-75% of an AMD’s time compared to a full-time clinician. The Associate Medical Director is a partner to the hospital clinical leader who is responsible for organization, coordination, direction, guidance, oversight, and control of hospital clinical functions, assuring high-quality medicine and an outstanding client experience. The Associate Medical Director, in conjunction with the Medical Director, will be responsible for overseeing the medical operations of their assigned departments within the hospital, serve as a mentor to staff, and lead the advancement of high-quality patient care and client service. The AMD will also work in collaboration with the hospital leadership to maintain and build relationships with the referring community. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities, strong mentoring and team building skills, excellent communication with colleagues and the referring community, and possess a foundation of business skills to support the growing success of the hospital. They offer specialty care in Surgery, Anesthesia, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Nutrition, and Emergency & Critical Care. They also have an in-house diagnostic laboratory with a full time clinical pathologist, call center, and a compounding pharmacy.
