Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital offering both primary and urgent care services, and they are hiring for a Medical Director. The hospital sees canine and feline patients. The Medical Director will lead the medical operations of the clinic while ensuring patients receive a high standard of care and that the team works together in a positive environment. The role also includes fulfilling the responsibilities of an Associate Veterinarian.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Sunday from 8AM to 6PM. Full-time positions include up to sixteen shifts per four-week period, while part-time scheduling is also available. Scheduling is flexible and adjusted based on the needs of the clinic.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining a collaborative, positive workplace environment. The Medical Director is client-oriented, an excellent communicator and serves as a mentor to all members of the team. The Medical Director partners with the Clinic Manager and reports to the Regional Director of Operations to support the overall success of the clinic. Alongside these leadership duties, the Medical Director also fulfills the responsibilities of an Associate Veterinarian, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, lab screening and testing, microchipping, spay and neuter procedures, senior pet care, travel certificates, nutritional counseling, prescription management, euthanasia, dentistry and teeth cleaning, dental surgery and mass removals.

Team

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
