Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital based in Kensington, Maryland, seeking a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their experienced and compassionate team. This long-established, community-focused hospital has been proudly serving the Kensington and Wheaton areas since 1974, providing lifelong veterinary care for a diverse range of species including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and small mammals. The hospital is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys variety in their caseload, a supportive environment, and opportunities to make an impact in a growing practice.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The hospital is closed on Sundays, supporting a healthy work-life balance. The role offers flexibility for full-time or part-time scheduling, with no after-hours or on-call requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a wide variety of species, including exotic pets. Responsibilities include performing wellness exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries and dental procedures, and communicating effectively with clients. The practice particularly welcomes veterinarians who are passionate about surgery and exotic medicine, as mentorship from an experienced exotics clinician is available. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with tailored mentorship programs available to support clinical and professional growth.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a modern and well-equipped facility, recently upgraded with new IDEXX laboratory equipment, a Sedivue analyzer, and a brand-new hospital suite. A new ultrasound unit and a spacious, remodeled dental suite with digital dental radiography support advanced diagnostics and treatment. The hospital is planning additional updates to the surgical and treatment areas in 2025, further enhancing efficiency and quality of care. Services include wellness care, dentistry, surgery, exotic pet medicine, and ultrasound, catering to both general practice and specialized needs within the community.

Team
The hospital currently has a team of four veterinarians, supported by a strong group of experienced technicians and receptionists. Led by a highly collaborative Medical Director, the culture emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and personal development. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
