Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital located in Estero, Florida, seeking a dedicated Lead Veterinarian to serve as the medical leader of their multi-doctor practice. This position offers the opportunity to guide a skilled and collaborative team while ensuring the highest standard of patient care. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary services for companion animals and is ideally situated between Naples and Fort Myers, surrounded by beautiful Gulf Coast scenery and endless outdoor activities.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The clinic is closed on Sundays, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will oversee the delivery of high-quality medical care, manage a varied caseload that includes wellness, surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine, and ensure smooth clinical operations. Responsibilities include supervising the medical team, partnering with leadership on staffing and scheduling, mentoring support staff, and fostering a positive and collaborative culture. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians with leadership backgrounds and those aspiring to grow into leadership roles, with strong mentorship and support available.

Practice Details
This modern, multi-doctor hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and a large surgical suite. The clinic offers a wide range of services such as dental care, surgery, spay and neuter procedures, microchipping, vaccinations, wellness exams, nutritional counseling, behavior management, parasite prevention, and onsite diagnostics. The practice combines high-quality medicine with a supportive, team-focused environment that encourages professional growth and community engagement.

Team
The hospital team includes six experienced DVMs supported by a highly trained and dedicated staff. The work environment is collaborative and mentorship-focused, providing opportunities for continued development and leadership growth within a cohesive and positive culture.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
