Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service animal hospital located in Edgewater, Maryland, seeking a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their talented and compassionate team. The hospital provides high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats, with a strong focus on patient comfort, client communication, and progressive medicine. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about practicing Fear Free, feline-friendly care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and is closed on weekends, offering great work-life balance. This role can be full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling options to suit individual needs. There are no after-hours or on-call requirements, allowing veterinarians to focus fully on in-clinic patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for companion animals, while maintaining excellent client communication and ensuring a calm, positive experience for pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and share the hospital’s commitment to practicing Fear Free and feline-friendly medicine. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship and continued learning opportunities available to support professional development.
Practice Details
This modern and well-equipped facility features ultrasound, digital radiology, hands-free x-ray, ophthalmology tools including Tonopen, and EKG capabilities, enabling the team to deliver advanced diagnostic and treatment services. The hospital is both Fear Free Certified and a Silver Feline Friendly Certified practice, reflecting its dedication to stress-free, compassionate care. Services offered include preventive care, internal medicine, dermatology, diagnostics, surgery, dental care, radiology, ophthalmology, and ultrasound.
Team
The team includes three full-time veterinarians supported by nine technicians, a hospital manager, and a groomer. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
