Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital based in Chesapeake, Virginia, seeking a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This modern, 8,000 sq. ft. hospital provides high-quality veterinary care for dogs, cats, and small animals. With a collaborative team of experienced veterinarians and advanced facilities, the hospital offers an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who values teamwork, professional growth, and delivering top-tier medicine in a supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and closed on Sundays. Veterinarians work a flexible full-time or part-time schedule with rotating Saturdays. There are no after-hours or emergency requirements, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to small animals while collaborating with fellow doctors and the support team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The role includes performing routine and complex procedures, diagnostics, and client communication to ensure the highest level of service. With access to advanced equipment and a diverse caseload, veterinarians can also pursue interests in areas such as orthopedic surgery, laser therapy, radiology, and advanced dentistry. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentoring and support available.

Practice Details
This state-of-the-art hospital was built just three years ago and spans 8,000 square feet, designed for efficiency, comfort, and advanced medical capabilities. The facility is equipped with digital radiology, PennHIP technology, orthopedic and soft-tissue surgical tools, laser therapy, and a comprehensive dental suite. The practice is known for its collaborative, growth-minded culture, where doctors and staff work together to support professional development and excellence in patient care.

Team
The hospital currently has a team of seven veterinarians, supported by a highly skilled and tenured support staff. The team’s culture is collegial, supportive, and mentorship-focused, making it an ideal environment for both new and experienced veterinarians.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
