General Practice Veterinarian (Associate Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a well-established hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their friendly and community-focused team. The hospital treats primarily small animals with limited exotic pet services and offers a broad mix of general practice and urgent care. Candidates can tailor their schedule to focus on GP, urgent care, or a hybrid of both. This opportunity is open to new graduates as well as experienced veterinarians.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, including options for full-time or hybrid roles across general practice and urgent care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The position includes a mix of general practice and urgent care responsibilities, depending on the candidate’s preferences. Clinical duties involve wellness exams, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, reproductive care, and treatment of minor exotic cases. Advanced therapeutic offerings include hydrotherapy, cold laser therapy, Bio-Pulse Electromagnetic Therapy, and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy. The role is open to experienced veterinarians, with mentorship and leadership development available.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, full dental facilities, an underwater treadmill, laser therapy, and regenerative medicine technologies. Services span preventative and urgent care, advanced surgery, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, allergy testing, reproductive services, and limited exotic animal care. The hospital is deeply embedded in the local community and offers a supportive, down-to-earth culture with high clinical standards.

Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a group of experienced veterinary professionals. The working environment is collaborative and mentorship-focused, with a strong emphasis on communication, learning, and mutual support.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
