General Practice Veterinarian (Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking a veterinarian to join their friendly and growing team. The hospital serves canine and feline patients and offers additional on-site services such as rehabilitation and orthopedics. With a current team of five doctors, they are looking to expand further, offering an extensive mentorship program for new graduates while welcoming veterinarians of all experience levels.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Wednesday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Thursday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and is closed on weekends. Flexibility is available for both full-time and part-time schedules, with full-time defined as 32 hours or more per week.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role offers a varied caseload, including wellness care, behavior medicine, vaccinations, dentistry, emergency cases, surgery, and in-house diagnostics. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with a comprehensive mentorship program provided for those starting their careers.

Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with two ultrasounds, a class 4 laser, cold therapy laser, digital radiography, dental radiography, IDEXX in-house laboratory, rehabilitation equipment, and a Ligasure surgical device. The facility has eight exam rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas, and follows Fear Free and Cat Friendly practices. Services include wellness exams, behavior medicine, preventive care, dental care, in-house diagnostics, surgery, microchipping, and emergency care.

Team
The practice currently has five DVMs, supported by 1.5 support staff per doctor. The team fosters a welcoming, collaborative, and mentoring-focused environment, with plans to add two more DVMs to meet growing client demand.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
