Introduction
Our client is a full-service, AAHA-accredited small animal practice seeking an Experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their multi-doctor team in Springfield, Illinois. The hospital treats dogs and cats and operates with Cat Friendly and Fear-Free Certified protocols to ensure a stress-free environment for patients.

Working Hours / Rota
The practice offers full-time employment, with hospital hours reflecting standard weekday operations. Specific doctor hours are not detailed, but the position is structured to support a balanced schedule and efficient workflow within the hospital’s operating hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical and surgical care for dogs and cats, including wellness exams, preventive medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dental care with digital radiography, and in-house diagnostic testing. The role includes performing procedures with anesthesia protocols supported by surgical technicians and coordinating with referral services when needed. This position is open to experienced veterinarians with a minimum of one year of clinical experience.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment, including a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopic equipment, and access to endoscopy at a sister hospital. Services offered include wellness and preventive care, senior wellness, puppy and kitten care, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, vaccinations, spay and neuter, microchipping, treatment and therapy, and referral services. Team
The practice consists of four DVMs supported by a 3:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, with dedicated assistants assigned to each doctor for clinical and administrative support. The environment is collaborative, efficient, and supportive of mentorship, professional development, and leadership growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
