General Practice Veterinarian (Associate Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a fast-paced, multi-doctor small animal hospital in Panama City, Florida, just five miles from the beach. They are hiring for a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their collaborative team. The practice integrates a wide variety of medical and surgical cases ranging from routine spays and neuters to advanced procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mass removals, and eye and ear surgeries. This opportunity is open to veterinarians of all experience levels.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, and closed on Sundays. This is a part-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role includes managing a varied caseload of medical and surgical cases. Clinical responsibilities include behavioral medicine, dental care, diagnostics and laboratory, emergency services, end of life care, microchipping, nutritional counseling, pain management, parasite prevention and control, spay and neuter, surgery and anesthesia, vaccinations, wellness exams, wellness testing, wound care, and exotic and wildlife cases. Additional responsibilities include serving patients and clients with a relationship-based approach, collaborating with the clinical team and leadership, building relationships within the local community, encouraging the growth of support staff through the internal LevelUp training program, and performing both surgeries and appointments during open hours. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital x-rays, dental x-rays, ultrasound, a surgical laser, and a cold/therapy laser. Facilities include multiple surgery tables, anesthetic machines, and a dental machine. The practice is Fear Free Certified, feline friendly, and underwent a renovation in 2018, offering a modern and serene environment for clients, patients, and staff. Team
The hospital has four DVMs supported by a great team of skilled staff. The environment is collaborative, supportive, and focused on mentorship and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
