Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital in Middletown, Connecticut, seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their expanding team. The hospital provides care for a variety of small animal species and is a state-of-the-art facility supporting advanced emergency and specialty medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
Specific doctor hours are open to discussion. The position is part-time, with flexibility in scheduling shifts.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide high-quality emergency care for small animal patients. The role emphasizes a doctor-led, medicine-first approach and integrates closely with primary care veterinarians and boarded specialists in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Avian/Exotics, and Critical Care. This position is suitable for experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a state-of-the-art facility with all the equipment needed to practice advanced medicine. The practice emphasizes education and collaboration, partnering with rotating internships, specialty internships, and residencies, as well as Middlesex Community College to provide clinical training for their AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program.

Team
The Emergency Veterinarian will join a collaborative and supportive team of dedicated professionals, including technicians, assistants, a client liaison, primary care veterinarians, and boarded specialists. The environment fosters professional growth, mentorship, and teamwork.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
