Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This small animal practice provides care for cats and dogs and offers a comprehensive range of wellness, medical, surgical, and dental services.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is closed on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This role is a full-time position with no after-hours or on-call requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to patients. Duties include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and environment. The position involves routine and complex surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, abdominal exploratories, and mass removals, as well as dental examinations, radiograph evaluations, and both simple and complex extractions. Additional responsibilities include developing treatment plans, providing continuity of care when transitioning patients, maintaining detailed medical records, and participating in rounds. This role is suitable for veterinarians who are comfortable with anesthesia, routine surgeries, and dentistry, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with ultrasound, heated hydraulic surgery tables, and digital radiography. Facilities include a full-service surgical suite, dentistry capabilities, and a pharmacy for prescription medications. Services provided include routine wellness, preventive care such as vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm management, illness and injury treatment, imaging, surgery, and dentistry. The hospital culture emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and high standards of patient care.

Team
The practice is staffed by one DVM supported by a paraprofessional team with expertise in areas such as dentistry and nutrition. The environment is collaborative, with an emphasis on mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
