Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a long-established small animal and exotics hospital seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. With multiple locations across Southern Illinois, the hospital has been providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for over 45 years and continues to grow.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday from 7:30am to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30am to 6pm, Wednesday from 7:30am to 8pm, Friday from 7:30am to 5pm, and Saturday from 8am to 2pm. It is closed on Sundays. This is a full-time role with flexible scheduling available.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves delivering high-quality veterinary care across general medicine and surgery for small animals and exotics. Clinical responsibilities include wellness, dentistry, diagnostics, surgery, preventative medicine, and senior pet care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates seeking mentorship.
Practice Details
The hospital is a fully equipped facility offering a wide range of diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Equipment and services include digital radiography, ultrasound, electrocardiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory testing, blood work, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and internal imaging tools. Comprehensive services extend to dental care, exotic pet care, chiropractic services, parasite prevention, nutritional counseling, microchipping, senior pet care, vaccinations, wellness care, spay and neuter, and surgical procedures. The hospital also provides advanced diagnostic testing and minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopy. Facilities include pharmacies, laboratories, and surgical suites across multiple locations.
Team
The hospital has a team of 7 DVMs supported by 35 experienced staff members. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on mentorship and professional growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
