General Practice Veterinarian (Associate Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their established team. This AAHA-accredited practice provides care for both dogs and cats, offering comprehensive veterinary services and supporting a steady and versatile caseload. The position is open to veterinarians of all experience levels, with structured mentorship available for new graduates and opportunities for experienced doctors to expand their skills, particularly in surgery.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:30am to 1:00pm. The schedule allows for a full-time role, and weekend coverage is limited to Saturday mornings with no Sunday hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves a broad range of clinical responsibilities, including wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, and surgery. The surgical caseload includes routine soft tissue procedures as well as more advanced cases such as fracture repair, c-sections, pyometras, cruciate repairs, splenectomies, and cystotomies. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with strong mentorship in place to ensure growth and support.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA-accredited and well equipped with diagnostic imaging, digital dental radiography, an in-house laboratory, and advanced surgical facilities. Services offered include preventive and wellness care, dentistry, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, internal medicine, nutrition, pain management, and emergency care during office hours. The practice culture is collaborative, client-focused, and dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care.

Team
The team consists of 5 veterinarians supported by 4 certified veterinary technicians and 3 technicians in training. Technicians are highly skilled and well utilized for tasks such as anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, radiographs, and laboratory work. The environment is cohesive, supportive, and mentoring-focused, making it an excellent setting for professional development and teamwork.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
