Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a modern and growing veterinary hospital seeking a Lead Veterinarian to join and lead the team at their clinic. This small animal practice provides primary care services, empowering veterinarians to deliver exceptional medicine with full clinical autonomy. The Lead Veterinarian will split their time between clinical duties (80%) and leadership responsibilities (20%).

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The clinic is open to discussing and adjusting the working hours for the Lead Veterinarian to accommodate scheduling needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses all typical GP duties and responsibilities. In addition to delivering high-quality veterinary care, the Lead Veterinarian will ensure that care is safe, effective, patient- and client-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Responsibilities also include mentoring and developing Associate Veterinarians, and partnering with the Hospital Operations Manager to oversee the client experience, including the resolution of client concerns when necessary.

Practice Details
Services provided include general wellness exams, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, surgery, oral health, nutrition, prescription management, oncology diagnostics, senior pet care, euthanasia, and select urgent care offerings and more. The hospital operates with DVM-crafted standards of care and offers full autonomy in medical decision-making.

Team
The team consists of talented and experienced DVMs who lead their own teams within a collaborative and empowering environment.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
