Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital hiring for a full-time Medical Director – Veterinarian. Located just outside of Chicago, this AAHA-certified practice is seeking a compassionate and motivated DVM to lead their team and help shape the future of the clinic through both medical leadership and high-quality patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital offers flexible scheduling to support work-life balance. While specific doctor hours are not provided, the position is full-time with adaptability built into the schedule, allowing the Medical Director to manage their time effectively across responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations and provide comprehensive veterinary care, including wellness and preventive medicine, illness and urgent care, surgery, dentistry, therapeutic laser therapy, acupuncture, and diagnostics. This role combines hands-on medical duties with leadership responsibilities and is ideal for an experienced veterinarian ready to take on a pivotal role. The clinic values medical autonomy, empowering the Medical Director to practice according to their expertise and clinical judgment.

Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with in-house diagnostics, digital full-body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, therapeutic laser therapy, and acupuncture. The facility includes a main hospital and a nearby outpatient clinic, offering variety in daily operations while maintaining integrated records and shared clientele. The practice also provides medical and vacation boarding. As a long-standing AAHA-certified hospital for 25 years, the clinic maintains high standards of care in a welcoming and unique setting—a rustic red barn environment just minutes from the city.

The practice is supported by three experienced doctors and a dedicated support staff. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
