Introduction
Our client is a full-service, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital located in Hillsville, Virginia, seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead their exceptional team. This hospital provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for dogs and cats, combining progressive medicine with compassionate, community-focused service. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no Sunday hours. The role is offered as a full-time position, providing a consistent schedule with excellent work-life balance. There are no after-hours or on-call responsibilities, allowing the Medical Director to focus on leading the team and delivering high-quality patient care during regular clinic hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will divide their time between clinical duties and leadership responsibilities, maintaining a strong presence on the clinic floor while providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to the veterinary team. Clinically, the role includes wellness and preventive care, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, and diagnostics. Leadership responsibilities involve developing and implementing medical protocols, mentoring associate veterinarians, collaborating with the Hospital Manager to achieve operational goals, and ensuring that the highest standards of medicine and client service are consistently upheld.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited facility is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology to support a wide range of veterinary services. The hospital provides comprehensive care including wellness and preventive medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, reproduction, allergy management, diagnostics, behavioral consultations, senior pet care, and end-of-life services. The clinic takes pride in its welcoming environment, personalized care, and strong ties to the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountain community.

Team
The hospital’s team consists of three veterinarians supported by a dedicated and talented group of veterinary technicians, assistants, and client care staff. The Medical Director will work closely with the Hospital Manager to promote open communication, continuous learning, and a collaborative culture. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
