Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to join their team. The practice provides care for dogs and cats and has built a strong reputation for compassionate, high-quality medicine. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with extended hours until 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays are closed. This is a full-time position with a structured schedule designed to maintain work-life balance while ensuring consistent patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Lead Veterinarian will oversee the delivery of outstanding veterinary care while fostering a culture of collaboration and client trust. Responsibilities include providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental services, monitoring associate doctor performance, and working closely with the hospital manager to ensure strong financial performance. Client communication and education are central to the role, as is the commitment to treating each pet and client with empathy and professionalism. The position requires a veterinarian with at least three years of clinical experience and leadership skills, along with proficiency in surgery.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with electronic medical records (AVImark), Idexx in-house diagnostics including Sedivue, Idexx out lab, digital radiography, and digital dental X-ray. Services include wellness and preventative care, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, testing, and diagnostics. The practice is deeply rooted in the Asheville community and is guided by the values of teamwork, compassion, and professional growth.

Team
The practice has a team of six veterinarians supported by a skilled group of support staff. The environment is collaborative, client-focused, and nurturing, offering a strong foundation for professional leadership and team development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
