Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital located in Mount Dora, Florida, seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinarian to join their growing and dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the expansion of their general practice into emergency and urgent care services, providing essential after-hours treatment for pets in need.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time, weekends-only position. The emergency service operates from Fridays at 5:00 PM through Mondays at 8:00 AM, with flexibility available within this schedule. After 8:00 AM on Mondays, the general practice team resumes standard daytime operations. Regular hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering urgent and emergency care to patients, performing diagnostics, medical and surgical treatments, and ensuring continuity of care for both new and existing clients. This role is ideal for veterinarians who thrive in fast-paced settings and are passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care. It is open to both experienced doctors and new graduates who are eager to develop their skills in emergency and urgent care medicine while contributing to the development of new service protocols.

This trusted, community-focused hospital offers a modern facility equipped with digital radiology, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, surgical suites, and laser therapy. Services include wellness and preventive care, vaccinations, surgery, dental care, urgent care, parasite prevention, microchipping, and more. Team
The team consists of six experienced DVMs supported by a talented and dedicated group of technicians and assistants. The environment promotes collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth, ensuring veterinarians are well supported while delivering the highest standard of care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
