Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital in Newington, Connecticut, looking for a Part time Emergency Veterinarian to join their Emergency, Critical Care & Referral Center team. The hospital provides specialized care for a wide range of small animals and is dedicated to high-quality emergency, critical care, and specialty medicine in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Specific doctor hours are open to discussion. The position can accommodate full-time or part-time preferences.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will provide full general and specialty practice responsibilities, including emergency and critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, neurology, and acupuncture. The role emphasizes practicing the highest quality of medicine, collaborating with other specialty departments, and mentoring or supporting junior doctors and residents. This position is suitable for experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital features a modern, well-equipped facility with advanced technology to support specialty and emergency care. Services offered include internal medicine, surgery, neurology, critical care, cardiology, ultrasound, and acupuncture. The culture is collaborative, professional, and community-focused.

Team
The veterinarian will join a team of seven DVMs, supported by highly skilled certified and residency-trained technicians and assistants, in a collegial, mentoring-focused environment.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
