Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a 24/7 emergency, specialty, and general practice hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital cares for dogs and cats and welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with a dedicated six-month mentorship program available.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. This role offers both full-time and part-time availability with coverage for overnight or swing shifts.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage urgent and critical cases, working alongside a strong emergency and critical care service and specialists across multiple disciplines. Clinical responsibilities include emergency medicine, hospitalization, surgery, pain management, and ongoing patient monitoring. Preventive and primary care services such as wellness, dentistry, and general surgery are also supported within the hospital. The position is open to both new graduates, who will receive structured mentorship, and experienced doctors seeking to practice advanced emergency medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital spans 27,000 square feet, with a 16,000 square foot addition underway. It is AAHA-accredited and equipped with a 1.5T MRI, 16-slice CT scanner, fluoroscopy, three ultrasound units, digital radiology, endoscopy, various scopes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, laser therapy, and Halcyon LinAc. Facilities include an isolation ward, in-house pharmacy, laboratory, and surgical suites. Services cover emergency and specialty care, advanced imaging, oncology, neurology, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, anesthesia, preventive care, dentistry, internal medicine, and wellness programs. The caseload is diverse and supported by access to a wide network of specialists.

Team
The hospital is home to more than 19 veterinarians, including specialists in internal medicine, surgery, neurology, emergency and critical care, radiology, oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology, and anesthesia. They are supported by an experienced management team, a strong internship program, and a large group of highly trained support staff, creating a collaborative and well-resourced environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
