Job Description
The practice is full-service small animal hospital offering the best in medical and surgical care. Their practice is fully equipped with an in-house lab, digital radiography, therapeutic laser, surgical laser, Midmark dental machine, and Cornerstone for electronic medical records. They have a certified ultrasonagrapher come in every other week for diagnostic ultrasounds and echocardiograms. All staff use Fear Free techniques, they have separate dog and cat entrances, and they have designated cat and dog exam rooms. Their hospital also offers boarding and grooming services. Their doctors perform a variety of routine, advanced soft tissue surgeries, and dentistry. They currently refer orthopedic surgical cases to specialty facilities in the area, but they would love to expand services to offer in-house orthopedic procedures. Their surgery suite contains surgical laser, warming equipment, monitoring equipment, and they have one technician and one assistant monitoring during every surgery. They also have therapeutic laser, which is used frequently for many conditions, including post operatively and for arthritic patients. Most importantly, they have a well-trained and well-utilized support staff. They are empowered to do everything they are trained to do, including taking radiographs, placing IV catheters, intubating, monitoring, and medicating patients. Every doctor is well-supported with a 2-3:1 technician to doctor ratio. They have traveling laptops to use in exam rooms and technicians are trained to get a history, TPR, and put their notes and each patient’s vitals directly into Cornerstone.
